Beaminster Tunnel

Today they started to drill – to put in the first of those 1000 nails, big nails. I was up there twice today and it is busy. At last. I will continue my vigilance. Early opening with traffic controls has to be a priority – even if it is weekends only though I hope works will be 7 days a week and all daylight hours. It must be opened ASAP, traffic lights, cars only – whatever it takes to get the closed signs moving in the direction of open.

Sorry to those who will be hearing a great deal of noise due to the drilling on the tunnel portals but if working around the clock means it can be open earlier, that has to be a good thing.

Thanks for keeping us all posted! Very much appreciated. Hopefully the dry weather is helping.
Would still love to know what’s going on in Melplash! Looks like Wessex Water is putting in some major bunkers!!!!
